In loving memory
In Loving Memory of Theresa Elizabeth Jane Parker:
heresa Elizabeth “Jane” Parker – 42 passed away August 18, 2004, at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph
Merton and George Gina Elizabeth (Smith) Parker. She is survived by her
partner Gary Kilburn; children Eric Herman, Toronto; Adam Herman,
Halifax, Danielle Prioux, Bridgewater; step-children, David Kilburn
(Jennifer Surette), Morse Road; Jason Kilburn, Morse Road ; Jessica
Kilburn, Dartmouth; grandson, Oscar Prioux; brothers Richard (Cynthia)
Parker, Winnipeg; Ronald Parker, Fredericton. She was predeceased by a son, Andrew Phillip John Herman.
Jane was both a founding and board member of MUMM. She held a
federal medical marijuana exemption. Jane lived with chronic
progressive MS and medical marijuana was the only thing that gave her
quality of life and symptom relief. Jane lived on a fixed income and
often went without medical marijuana as the provincial nor federal
government would offer her any financial assistance with maintaining
her medication supply. Instead, she was offered an array of
pharmaceuticals, including high doses of morphine (paid for by the NS
provincial government,) to deal with the constant pain caused by the
MS. The side effects of the pharmaceuticals were overwhelming and led
to her premature death.
Rest in peace Jane.
