10 Dec 2008 - "Could the Coalition for Canada save Canadian publisher Marc Emery from a lifetime in a US prison?"
In some ways, and at least until the end of February 2009, I consider myself a single issue non-voter...an activist publisher with a single, overriding personal agenda -- to stop the extradition of Canadian publisher, free market drug policy reformer, marijuana seed distributor and friend, Marc Emery.
Why is this a priority for me?
05 Dec 2008 - "Review - High Times 20th Anniversary Cannabis Cup "
(High Times Productions/MVD Visual)
It's "the stoner Super Bowl," "marijuana fantasy camp" and "a playground for adults." It's the 2007 annual High Times Cannabis Cup competition and festival, and whatever the attendees call it in the commemorative DVD, it looks like the kind of fun that makes an American weed smoker drool in envy at the unenforced laws of Amsterdam.
You know the look you get on your face when you're high and happy as a kid skipping over a lawn sprinkler? Everyone has that look in this DVD.
It might have something to do with the prodigious amounts of high-powered weed in bongs, pipes, vaporizer bags, joints, huge "hand-grenade"-sized buds, over sized 100-gram joints, and so on, throughout the documentary. Footage of baristas showing off the many, many different selections available in Amsterdam's pot cafes is, to the persecuted smoker, like dropping off a bulimic at a cheesecake factory. Holy shit. Gotta go to Holland. (One Cannabis Cup notable says of his first time buying weed at an Amsterdam café, "I almost cried. I was like, ‘This is how it can be!'")
05 Dec 2008 - "Obama's administration will end lies about medical cannabis use"
Editor,
One change we can expect to see in president-elect Barack Obama's administration is the end of government lies, half-truths and propaganda concerning medical use of cannabis. Due to many government-recorded and verifiable facts, some Americans know the Bush administration's Garrison Courtney, spokesman for the Drug Enforcement Administration, is not telling the truth when he claims "There is no such thing as medical marijuana."First, the U.S. government supplies patients with cannabis and has for many years, including stockbroker Irv Rosenfeld, who tours America speaking about the fact.

04 Dec 2008 - "Shopping at Weedmart"
Colleen Daley lives on a sun burnt patch of over zoned Chula Vista real estate. She is besieged by the odoriferous crosscurrents of wafting grease and the crackling bark of drive-in order speakers — her one-bedroom ranch is surrounded by fast-food joints. And that’s where she thinks her problems as a marijuana farmer started.
